Showtime: AEA

Showtime: AEA

The 2nd Annual African Entertainment Awards (AEA) Malaysia 2011 is set to be bigger and better, as it is gaining well deserved recognition from the international front. This can be shown by the increased number of international participants and huge media interest in this year’s event.

AEA Malaysia was conceptualized last year (2010) by Orange Box Asia S/D, a Malaysian based entertainment company, one of the prime pioneers of African Entertainment in Malaysia and Asia as a whole. AEA is a prestigious night of recognition and celebration of goals achieved by Africans in the Diaspora and their contributions to the undying cultural heritage.

The patrons are not only promising a show to recognize the achievements of Africa’s stars but according to Andy Daniel, the show’s director, entertainment is also going to be attached to the event. Mr Daniel said that, “Entertainment is part of being African. Once a year, Africans in Asia come together in a grand style to pay homage to the motherland and award deserving individuals that have contributed immensely to the African Entertainment industry worldwide and in Asia, in particular.”

Mr Daniel also went on to say that, ”This year we have 4 main award categories, Music Awards, Social Awards, Mainstream Awards and Special Recognition Awards.”, and that “The organizing committee is making a distinction between professional and non professional entries, awarding the very best entries in these categories.”

AEA 2011 will be featuring several African international artists which include:
