“It’s your boy Wizzy! Wizkid shuts down Birmingham

A.H@diaspoRAW.net: Last night the people of Birmingham were graced with the opportunity to see Wizkid at an exclusive intimate set at the Club Karma. Currently living in London to work on his new album, which we at Diasporaw cannot wait to ‘DROP’, this was one of two shows here in the UK this week. Rumour has it he will be touring later in the year….so keep your eyes peeled!

Heartthrob: Wizkid

Heartthrob: Wizkid

Dressed in a trendy denim jacket, black OBEY hat and stylish new shoes (which he posted on Instagram here: http://instagram.com/p/ck0bBeG6yV/), this fine Naija boy was oozing swag. With no stage at the venue, Starboy sung to his adoring fans from an elaborate red staircase. I am not exaggerating when I use the word ‘adoring’ either. These girls (and guys) could not get enough of Wizzy, so much that a huge bouncer was asked to stand in front of him as he was worried he would get mobbed. He was right to think that as when he approached the crowd, hands were stretching as far as they could just to try and shake his hand. Some girls were pushing with all their might just to get a little bit closer to the rising star.

It was a club night, but unfortunately it was a short (but sweet) set. In such an intimate setting, he was really able to engage with the audience- each song began with an a’cappella sing-along where the crowd were given the chance to show that they knew every lyric. He performed two of his most recent tunes: ‘Jaiye Jaiye’ and ‘The Matter’, as well as the classic ‘Don’t Dull’, the cheeky ‘Holla at your boy’ and one of my personal favourites ‘Pakurumo’.

My advice to you: be the first in line to buy tickets to see him at his UK tour. This boy is wizzing places, and fast.”
