Crazy Rockers: The Parlotones

The Parlotones are a rock band from Johannesburg who have, since forming in 1998, gone on to put South African rock music on the international map. The band career highlights include 2 platinum and 3 double platinum albums, performing at the FIFA World Cup kick off concert, Live Earth, Olympics as well as performances in over 150 cities around the world.

The band is best known for their lead singer, Kahn Morbee’s dramatic make-up for all performances and award-winning music videos. The other members of the band are Glen Hodgson, Paul Hodgson and Neil Pauw.

Their second album “Radiocontrolledrobot” was released in 2005 and was their first project to achieve mainstream success and even earned them the “Best Rock Album” award at the 2006 South African Music Awards.

There next album “A World Next Door To Yours” was released in 2007 went on to be the country’s best selling rock album of the decade.

Tonight they perform on the Idols SA stage for Season 9’s finale.
