Rwanda Is Home: Stroame

Paul Van Haver, better known as Stromae, has taken the international music scene by storm.

Born in Brussels to a Belgian mother and a Rwandan father – who was killed in the 1994 genocide – the 28-year old musician has recently released his second album, Racine Carree (Square Root).

When BBC Africa’s Sophie Ikenye met him in London, she began by asking him why he thinks his music is so popular even in non French-speaking countries.
