EVENT ALERT: Fundraiser for West Africa Clean Water Project in Healdsburg, Carlifonia

512148-250A West African themed fundraiser at the Villa Chanticleer on March 28 at 5:30 pm to raise funds for the Clean Water Project in Guinea Bissau.

West African music expert Steve Pile for Healdsburg itself performing live and Chef Alfredo from Guinea will be preparing a ‘sumptuous’ dinner.

The Clean Water Project in Guinea Bissau is a collaborative effort that includes the Healdsburg High School Interact Club, Sunrise Rotary, Noontime Rotary, and Kiwanis.

The Healdsburg Community Church is spearheading the effort to raise money to build a small factory in Guinea-Bissau to make water filters for use in individual homes, schools and orphanages. Construction on the factory has begun and proceeds from the benefit will help in its completion.

The event will include dinner, wine, and live music. Guinean Chef Alfredo will prepare a dinner of traditional West African food.

Healdsburg native Steve Pile, an expert in West African music, will perform on the guitar and the kora, a West African harp.
