Africa Oye organisers have announced the running order and set times for the main stage at this year’s festival.

Saturday is headlined by UK soul supremo Omar, while Sunday’s line-up will be topped by reggae icon Frankie Paul.

Other highlights of this year’s Sefton Park celebration include the first-ever UK performance of one of East Africa’s most exciting new bands, Sarabi, and the brand new Oye Introduces portion, which will see North West acts open the main stage for both days of the festival.

Pieces of a Man will open the main stage on Saturday, and Merki Waters will kick things off on Sunday.

Manning the decks in between the main stage artists will be BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Edu and Esa Williams.
