Happy: Eddy Kenzo (center) With His BET Award

Eddy Kenzo won the “Best New International Act” award at the BET awards on Sunday night. The award winner was voted for by the public and the chose him by tweeting Pick Eddy. Sadly the Uganndan star received his award on the red-carpet/sidelines. Although an even worse experience compared to some of his other international counterparts who received their awards on a set backstage, it is still a massive recognition. The BET Awards are a major honour to the contribution of black artists to the music scene worldwide and to be honoured by them is a big thingg. Eddy thank God for his award and highlighted how his background story and how that contributed to his story, saying that he was “homeless for 13 years” after he lost his mother as a kid.

Others nominate in the category were, Caspper Nyovest from South Africa, MzVee from Ghana, The UK’s George The Poet, Mic Lowry and Novelist.
