Eddy Kenzo Announces The Loss Of One Of His Child Prodigies, Alex Of Ghetto Kids

Almost everyone who is into Afrobeats and current African music knows who Eddy Kenzo is, thanks to his massive hit song “Sitya Loss” and many other hits. “Sitya Loss” was particularly made famous by a street dance video featuring the so-called Ghetto Kids, in their shanty clothing and with their rather impromptu street dance performance of the song. Following, the video and a subsequent feature in the official video of “Sitya Loss”, the Ghetto kids went on to become not only national icons but international stars, thanks to social media. Among them were Alex, whose passing Eddy Kenzo himself announced on his Facebook page today and Patricia, who Eddy somehow said was in a critical condition. He made the below post on his page;
Alex Death

As shown above, the post attracted hundreds of likes, comments and shares due to the popularity of the young dancing group Ghetto Kids, who had also turned into making their own music alongside making dance videos for songs by several other artists other than Eddy Kenzo. They have done dance videos for Skatta’s “Kyana Gwe” and “Follow Follow” by Hanson Baliruno among many others, and had a huge following online, garnering millions of views on Youtube.

The news of Alex’s death and Patricia’s injury is definitely a blow to both the Ugandan and African entertainment scenes. The Ghetto Kids have been growing up on many people’s screens and we were looking forward to seeing them do even greater things and continue to represent the continent. We hope this will not slow down the momentum of the remaining members and we pray for Patricia’s speedy recovery. #RIPAlex.
